The Deming view of a business
Article Abstract:
W. Edwards Deming, a management expert, viewed business as a system that includes the customer and the supplier, and focuses on customer expectations and satisfaction. Deming believed that the systems' capability undergoes variations, and management should focus on optimization of the entire system. Deming's management theory is based on a system that incorporates psychology, understanding of the system and theories of variation and knowledge. Deming's 14 management points, which reflect the importance of management's commitment to employees for effective cultural change, are described.

Workplace design - general view and some special experiences
Article Abstract:
Human capital will always be an integral part of the production process even as advanced manufacturing systems are continually developed. A poorly designed work area will lead to minimum work incentive, low product quality, high absenteeism due to sickness and high social insurance costs. Workplace design must therefore be planned to maximize human production efficiency and achieve high product quality.
