The quest for CMI certification

Article Abstract:

The certified mechanical inspector (CMI) exam can prove quite difficult if the person intending to take it is not prepared. It is suggested that one should count on previous knowledge of the quality control procedures that are employed in everyday work such as statistical process control, instrument measurement and mathematical processes. In addition, the CMI brochure from the American Society for Quality Control (ASQC) is a must. Passing the exam does not entitle a person to a registration nor a license. It simply provides recognition by ASQC and presents a vital asset for future job placement.

Coming soon: single auditor certification

Article Abstract:

The International Auditor and Training Certification Association (IATCA) is working towards a single quality system registration certificate that would be recognized and accepted worldwide.. The IATCA program removes the need of multiple certifications of auditors and multiple approvals of training courses. The IATCA program, which currently includes ISO 9000, would be enlarged to also encompass the ISO 14000 Environmental Management Systems auditors program.
