Recentering at Netscape
Article Abstract:
Netscape Communications Corp. is looking for other ways to improve its sales, among which is its effort to restructure its home Web page, known as the Netcenter. Netcenter will be capable of offering search services, through the use of Excite's search engine. The site will also offer other types of contents, located elsewhere. As an example, Netcenter will offer a travel service that allows users to look at flights and hotels. The company is currently experiencing poor business in the Internet browser market because of Microsoft's recent decision to give for free its Internet Explorer browser.

The Web within the Web
Article Abstract:
New machine-to-machine communications, called Web services are quietly reshaping the way business is done and although a small percentage of all commercial transactions are done on line, new technology in the form of Web services is changing that. Web services are a way programmers can make their databases available across the Web, let other programmers access them and combine these databases together into services that are novel.
