Article Abstract:
The design and construction of golf courses are now being subjected to environmental considerations. Environmental engineers are expected to complement the plan of the golf course architect with their familiarity of local conditions with which they could better assess environmental features that require special attention. This concept is applied in the design process of the Lowes Island Golf Course wherein its area was designed to be protected from low level floods and certain adjustments were made regarding water treatment plants, sewerage systems and telephone lines.
