Word-of-mouth recommendations promote service quality
Article Abstract:
Word-of-mouth recommendations on service quality play an important role in pushing products to new customers and generating revenue streams by increasing the percentage of retained customers. An academic study echoes these views and shows advertising to be only partly responsible for attracting new customers. Comprehensive business strategies can be drawn up by taking into account the company's life cycle, which helps identify young/mature companies. Service quality is of utmost importance to mature companies whereas advertising plays a pivotal role for nascent organizations.

Research shows rewarding individual goals can hinder team success
Article Abstract:
Organizations that group employees into teams to achieve higher quality/productivity may fail to achieve the desired results if they continue rewarding the employees for individual performance. Research results show the possibility of achieving optimum quality/productivity by aligning the individual's goal to the overall group goal. Group performance is up by 36% when goals of the individuals are such that they contribute to the overall success/failure of the group goal. Success of the individual/group raises the commitment of the individuals towards the group.
