Yoshihiro Kuroki, who works for Sony Corp.'s Entertainment Robot Co., is the creator of ever more capable humanoid entertainment robots, starting with the Sony Dream Robot (SDR) in 1997, to QRIO in 2003. Kuroki, who spends a lot of his time writing papers and preparing presentations, is developing new motion-control technologies for his robots.

The bioped humanoid robot, Qrio, manufactured by Sony Corp., Tokyo, can hear, speak, sing, recognize objects and faces, walk, run, dance and grasp objects, pick itself up when it falls, etc. They are corporate ambassadors for Japan at trade shows and are not for sale.
