"007" Pierce Brosnan boycotts French premiere of "Goldeneye."(Pierce Brosnan joins Greenpeace to protest French nuclear testing)

Article Abstract:

The new James Bond, Pierce Brosnan has boycotted the French premiere of his film, 'Goldeneye' to support protestations by Greenpeace against French nuclear testing in the South Pacific. France conducted its last test in the South Pacific on Jan 27, 1996. Intense global protests have impelled France to reduce the series of nuclear tests and sign the South Pacific Nuclear Free Zone Treaty. These moves are expected to eventually shut down French nuclear testing sites at the Moruroa and Fangataufa atolls in the South Pacific.
