The penchant for individuality in the American character and the separation of religion from nationality complicates the understanding of American religiosity. A paradox exists of more Americans claiming an interest or belief in religion, with fewer taking part in traditional organized faiths.

A sea lion rescue
Article Abstract:
The use of the monofilament gill net, which is imperceptible underwater, in commercial fishing poses dangers to other sea animals in California. Monofilament gill nets were banned in 1992, but it won't be effective until 1994. Injured animals will just have to be rescued in the meantime.

Civilians in areas of armed conflict die due to lack of medical care for infections from wounds or even from diarrhoea. The effects of war on public health are extreme and can be prevented. Steps toward preventing war and preserving public health are listed.
