Fluctuating asymmetry and immune function in a field cricket

Article Abstract:

Fluctuating asymmetry (FA) of three non-ornamental traits in hind limbs is tested to assess relation to male immune function in a population of the Mediterranean field cricket. Results suggest that FA in non-ornamental traits indicates male immunocompetence.

Article Abstract:

Synchrony between foliage-feeding forest species and role of generalist predators as synchronizing agents is examined. Greater synchrony was found among species sharing similar larval feeding strategies and morphologies.
