Banking
Article Abstract:
The environmental organization Greenpeace campaigns for a stop to negotiations with international lending institutions such as the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund that help in the destruction of the environment. Greenpeace asks Pres Clinton to use his powers and duties to change US policies regarding negotiations with these institutions as they transact deals that have little regard for the plight of the environment. The World Bank, for example, holds the funds of the Climate Convention yet lacks the initiative to write policies on global warming and instead funds projects that are environmentally destructive.

Pesticides
Article Abstract:
The environmental organization Greenpeace campaigns for a stop to the export of pesticides banned in the US. The banned pesticides, called the 'circle of poison,' is hazardous to the workers and handlers. Ironically, the world's highly poisonous insecticides made exclusively for export, chlordane and heptachlor, are being manufactured by Velsicol Chemical Corporation, a chemical company based in Tennessee, pro-environment VP Gore's home state.
