The Bronx 2000 recycling program, a for-profit subsidiary, was designed to help with inner city economic growth and jobs. Its buy-back program has helped citizens who recycle materials. Now Recoverable Resources is pursuing contracts with industries that want to buy recycled plastic materials.

Stopping corporate secrecy

There is a campaign underway to have legislation passed that would enable companies to conceal environmental management information. Several states already have passed such public-access-limiting laws, and there is an attempt at federal legislation. Public action options are discussed.
