Carbon emissions and sequestration potential of central African ecosystems
Article Abstract:
The role of sequestration and plant biomass are examined in the calculation of emissions credit trading initiatives for central Africa, pursuant to compliance with Kyoto Protocol targets. Possible strategies for improving carbon sequestering in the region include reforestation.

Environmental lead exposure in Africa
Article Abstract:
Lead poisoning is especially prevalent in African countries and there is some evidence that it could be affecting the intelligence levels of a whole generation of children. The sources of lead pollution and methods to control it are discussed.
