Cashing in on human rights
Article Abstract:
Among the 47 most underdeveloped countries in the world, a quarter have shown an average output growth of 2% in 1994 because of a better human rights record. Poor nations have not been able to trade on equal terms with other countries because of the low price of the crops in the international market. To offset this imbalance the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development has proposed an alterative free trade agreement between underdeveloped nations.

Ocean ranching: the solution, or only a bad idea whose time has come?
Article Abstract:
Ocean ranching will help offset the fall in fish catches worldwide, but its successful implementation requires the collective efforts of technology, biology, ecology, socio-economic and political resources. Ocean ranching is common in Japan, North America and Europe, and highly-priced species such as cod, salmon, lobster and other sport fish are cultivated in marine hatcheries to be later released in the oceans.

Population was only part of the problem in Rwanda
Article Abstract:
A major factor in the Rwandan ethnic carnage was the overpopulation in the nation, which led to deficient living standards and the subjugation of minorities by ethnic majorities and warmongers from within the country and from abroad. However, the main cause of Rwandan ethnic massacres is attributed to local leaders' manipulative strategies to gain political capital.
