Changes in village-scale nitrogen storage in China's Tai Lake Region
Article Abstract:
A comparison is presented on traditional versus contemporary land management strategies in the Tai Lake Region of China, focusing on their effect on soil nitrogen content. Village soil and sediment showed a rise in nitrogen storage, most due to agricultural activity, but sedimentation may increase the depletion of agricultural soil nitrogen, putting the village food supply at risk.

Tree functional group richness and landscape structure in a Brazilian tropical fragmented landscape
Article Abstract:
Research indicates that fragment connectivity and boundary complexity are the primary factors that drive tree species richness, with shade-tolerant, barochorous and ochorous species the most affected by landscape parameters. Data were obtained from a fragmented tropical forest region in Brazil.

Shifts in arbuscular mycorrhizal communities along an anthropogenic nitrogen deposition gradient
Article Abstract:
Research suggests that nitrogen enrichment creates a shift in the community composition of arbuscular mycorrhizas, generating a larger-spored species displacement and a concomitant smaller-spored species proliferation. This shift decreases species richness, resulting in eutrophication.
