Comparison of water supply and sewerage in Gdansk (Poland) in three different periods

Article Abstract:

The article examines water quality management practices in Gdansk, Poland, during the mid-1300s, the late 1800s, and present day. The earliest system was comprised of an aqueduct from the Radunia River, while the 19th century system used groundwater. A sewerage system and wastewater treatment plant were also built at this time. Present-day challenges include adequate treatment of wastewater to lessen negative impact on the Baltic Sea coast.
