Hilight '92 competition winners
Article Abstract:
The EMPA Architecture Hilight Awards are the first recognition of the importance of lighting in architecture. The awards are for British and European buildings and interiors. The Best British Interior Lighting Scheme was won by the Bentalls Centre, Kingston-upon-Thames, designed by the Building Design Partnership. The Gleneagles Hotel conference suite, designed by RPW Design won the award for innovative application of new products. Best exterior lighting went to Philips for the Albert Bridge, London and the best European scheme was the British Pavillion at the Seville Expo, designed by Ove Arup and Thorn.

Haldane's rule
Article Abstract:
Studies show that Haldane's Rule is primarily the result of the dominance theory. Haldane's Rule, the preferential inviability or sterility of heterogametic hybrids, or XY sex, is driven by the partial recessives generated by speciation genes. The faster evolutionary rate of hybrid male steriles is also a factor resulting in Haldane's Rule.
