Intraspecific and interspecific larval interaction in Drosophila assessed by integrated fitness measure

Article Abstract:

Intraspecific density effect was investigated for Drosophila (D) simulans, D. suzukii, D. auraria, D. rifa and D. immigrans, and interspecific density effects was examined for combinations of D. simulans, D. rufa and D. immigrans. The effect of D. simulans on D. rufa or D. immigrans on D. simulans was not significant.

Evolutionarily stable allocation to vegetative and sexual reproduction in plants

Article Abstract:

The resource allocation method is used to create a predictive model of reproduction rates in plants, both vegetative and sexual, within the framework of their respective evolutionary costs. Trade-offs between ramet and seed production within given environments are examined.

The effect of intra-specific competition on seedlings of sexual and apomictic Taraxacum officinale

Article Abstract:

Research shows that sexual Taraxacum officinale dandelions have no advantage over nonsexual, or apomictic, dandelions in competitive environments. Competition was found to reduce growth to an equal extent in both sexual and apomictic plants.
