Lipid dynamics in the viperine snake, Natrix maura, from the Ebro Delta (NE Spain)
Article Abstract:
Lipid content in fat bodies, liver and muscle of the viperine snake (Natrix maura) were measured along an active season and the samples were collected from a natural population of the Ebro Delta Natural Park (NE Spain). Lipids stored in liver appeared to be critical for vitellogenesis, while lipids stored in muscle is a supplementary energetic resource to fuel reproductive effort.

Nonlinear processes in seagrass colonization explained by simple clonal growth rules
Article Abstract:
The analysis of the development of single clones of the seagrass Cymodocea nodosa is conducted using a growth based on the formation of structures limited by diffusive aggregation. The model implemented the measured clonal growth rules and shoot mortality rate for C. nodosa at Alfacs Bay (Spain).

Credit or debit? Resource input changes population dynamics of city-slicker birds
Article Abstract:
Bird populations exceed the carrying capacity of the urban environment, costing heavily on body condition and/or life span. Under such conditions, only the winners have sufficient access to food resources and the opportunity to reproduce.
