Reef development at Inhaca Island, Mozambique: coral communities and impacts of the 1999/2000 southern African floods

Article Abstract:

Floods during 1999 and 2000 on Mozambique's Inhaca Island were found to affect coral reefs on the island's western side more significantly than those on the island's southern edge. Coral death was attributed to freshwater-induced bleaching, which was mitigated for southern edge reefs due to their proximity to the Indian Ocean.
