Twenty years: no time off for good behavior
Article Abstract:
Greenpeace has grown tremendously in the 20 years since it was founded, but is still small compared to the industrial and political forces undermining the earth's environment. Today those forces have adopted sophisticated public relations techniques which portray them as friends of the environment. Publicity-generating stunts are only one part of Greenpeace's activities, which include the patient, day-to-day efforts of researchers, lobbyists and activists.

Caribbean blues: finding a safe place for whales
Article Abstract:
Greenpeace has launched an anti-whaling campaign in the Caribbean islands to gain support for the creation of a whale sanctuary in the South Pacific Ocean. The islands' economies however are heavily dependent on foreign aid, much of which comes from Japan, a country which opposes the sanctuary plan because of its whaling industry.
