A trip to Baja, Mexico offers a variety of island adventures. These include whale watching, playing with sea lions and encounters with a wide array of marine and terrestial creatures. But the natural beauty of the place may not last long unless it is turned into a natural reserve and managed properly.

The discovery of the richness of the ecosystem of Russia's Far East has endangered its many rare and diverse species of plants and animals. The fall of communism has opened up Kamchatka to foreign business interests which has caused the death of many of the region's wildlife.
