Coal ash rules will require disposal liners, groundwater monitoring

Article Abstract:

EPA is evolving new rules governing the solid waste disposal of coal-combustion ash under the Resource Conservation & Recovery Act. The plan will require coal ash to be disposed of in landfills that comply with liner and groundwater requirements.
