Article Abstract:
The city and county of San Francisco is using a 3-stream sort system for residential compostables, recyclables and trash, and an aggressive commercial and institutional program for food scraps. San Francisco is a pioneer in source separated organics diversion and it is the only city in the United States that is fully committed to a three-stream sort program for residential MSW.

Biobased fabric composting trial
Article Abstract:
A study was conducted on the use of agricultural products as raw materials for plastics manufacturing, instead of petroleum. The industries are responding positively for this and are examining in-vessel composting of polylactic acid (PLA) feedstocks.
