Estimation using contingent valuation data from a "dichotomous choice with follow-up" questionnaire: reply
Article Abstract:
An error was noted with regards to an article proposing that the two yes-no willingness-to-pay (WTP) responses generated by the dichotomous choice format should be perceived as a combination of jointly distributed discrete random variables. Specifically, the presence of a programming error was uncovered in a traditional estimation approach called comparison model. On the other hand, the finding of the article linking appropriate specification to the formulation of wrongful inferences based on traditional method estimation remains.

Accounting for choice set endogeneity in random utility models of recreation demand
Article Abstract:
An endogenous choice set model is presented to assess the random utility model by forecasting which substitutes of a conventionally defined choice set are significant to individuals. Results from the analysis of examples reveals that a defined choice set in recreation site decision models may have a significant effect on parameter and compensating variation models.
