Firefighter heroes honoured in Lifesaver awards

The annual Vodafone Life Savers Awards in November 2007 will honor the U.K.'s unsung heroes as National Life Savers, which include fifteen men and women from the emergency services and the general public. The four firefighters to receive the award are: Steve Binns, Paul Myers, Michael Coleman, and David Jenkins.

At risk urged to ditch their chip pans

The Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service launched an advertising campaign to convince residents to refrain using chip pans to avoid fires. The campaign included advertisements on TV, radio, and bus shelters in Tyne and Wear.
