Georgia builds poultry litter composting infrastructure
Article Abstract:
An overview is presented on the different processes used to add poultry litter to products produced by Georgia's composting industry. These include retrofitting old poultry houses with in-vessel systems and curing areas and using methane digesters. Partnerships between composting plants and public agencies have helped promote poultry litter as a compost feedstock.

Composting assessment in Georgia
Article Abstract:
An overview is presented on the strategies being used by the state of Georgia to meet its 25% waste reduction goal. These include using both public and private composting facilities, which handle a variety of feedstocks, and utilizing equipment such as front-end loaders, rotational drums, agitated beds, windrow turners, forced aeration systems and mixer/shredders.
