Metso acquires Sveldala
Article Abstract:
Helsinki, Finland-based Metso Corp, a supplier of products and services for rock and mineral processes, is acquiring Svedala Industri AB of Sweden cash payments and assumed debt. Svedala will be combined with Nordberg, Metso's rock and mineral processing business. Metso, which has an annual net sales of about $1.5 billion, will assume debt worth about $528 million. The acquistion, which is worth $1.6 billion, is still subject to approval by Svedala shareholders.

Newell assets purchased by Riverside Products

Newell Inc of San Antonio, TX, has sold certain assets to Sivyer Steel Corp of Bettendorf, IO, and its recycling division, Riverside Products. The assets included in the sale are the 'Newell' named when associated with shredder manufacturing, intellectual property, all licenses, drawings, specifications, casting patterns, molds, flasks and fixtures, consumer lists and orders, and general tangibles associated with Newell'sbusiness.
