Levand opens new trading facility

Levand Steel and Supply Corp, a major supplier of recycled scrap to the US' foundry industry, has opened a trading office in Baltimore, MA, to serve as the company's trading location for the Northeast. The Baltimore office is the second trading facility established by Los Angeles, CA-based company, the first being located in Birmingham, AL. Levand Vice Pres Marshall Minkin revealed that the company has no immediate plans to open any more trading facilities in the US.

LandStar looks to build new facility

Dayton, OH-based LandStar Inc is planning to establish a major production facility in the US. A site evaluation process has already been initiated while claims of positive testing results of its activated modified rubber production process have been announced. The company is considering the Riviera Beach in Florida as a serious contender for the first production facility due to its access to a deep sea port, freeway and rail linkages.

Concrete recycling facility OK'd
Article Abstract:
Zi-Mar Group has won regulatory approval for the construction of a concrete and asphalt recycling facility in Burton, MI. Once completed the recycling plant would take in concrete and asphalt from contractors working on road projects. The scrap concrete would be recycled back into material that can be used agains by road construction firms. Zi-Mar Groups is being backed by a number of companies involved in road construction projects.
