Lousiana plant could be next Superfund site
Article Abstract:
The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries Inc (ISRI), a recycling industry trade group, has asked its members to allow it to coordinate response efforts at a new EPA investigation of a prospective Superfund site. The ISRI reported that some of its members have received letters of investigation from the EPA concerning shipments to the Delatte Metals smelter and foundry. It has advised its members to exercise care in responding to the EPA request in order to prevent setting a precedent which could be detrimental to recyclers in future cases.
