Storm water runoff is identified as one of the major sources of water quality impairment in the United States. Installation of green roofs using compost throughout the nation as a BMP for storm water retention and water quality improvement is discussed.

Arresting corrosion in compost structures

Special attention must be given to materials and the methods of building construction in a composting factory, as the environment inside is highly corrosive. Through a case study, the methods to avoid material and equipment corrosion are demonstrated.
