Missouri school operates an in-vessel composter
Article Abstract:
An overview is presented on the operation of an in-vessel composting facility at Reeds Spring High School, Missouri. Students from all the district's schools assist in sorting cafeteria tray waste, which is then collected and placed in the facility's mixing unit along with yard trimmings and shredded paper, and placed in the composter. The resulting product is then commercially marketed.

Hawaiian Earth Products is planning to incorporate construction and demolition wastes into its composting feedstocks. The company uses windrows to formulate compost, which is comprised of yard trimmings, manure, and food residuals, and will soon include gypsum wallboard and borate lumber.
