Processing woody materials for higher value markets
Article Abstract:
The processing of woods residual is rapidly growing due to the decrease in the supply of virgin wood fiber. Processed fiber from wood residuals can be a good substitute for virgin wood fiber in making particleboard. Choosing the right wood processing system will depend on volume, feedstock type, intended uses and location of processing. These considerations are particularly important when going after higher value markets such as medium-density fiberboard and paper.
