Policy options for market development

Article Abstract:

The Recycling Advisory Council (RAC) has proposed a tax for all products manufactured from fresh materials for the conservation of natural resources. The aim of the committee is to increase the use of recyclable products with higher recovery of waste material. The revenue from these goods will be used to fund recycling and composting programs in the state. The other options in the policy also force manufacturers to use certain amount of recyclables in their products. They are allowed to form funding organizations which will help them in establishing recycling facilities. The RAC also promotes the sale of recyclable goods and increases waste diversion.
