Recycling in Yosemite
Article Abstract:
A study of solid waste management system in Yosemite National Park shows that partnership between the Curry Co, the Dow Chemical Co and the Huntsman Chemical Corp has been effective in providing recycling services to the people. An improved recycling program will have to be planned before the partnership between these three companies dissolves in Sept 1993. The costs of services are likely to rise due to an increase in the number of tourists and a rise in the waste disposal costs. Total costs can be cut down with improvement in recycling programs by encouraging partnerships, using the same vehicle for collecting waste as well as recyclables, by having proper waste management system and by making the visitors aware of the waste deposited by them and the importance of recycling.
