Students operate 'Feed the Bin' program
Article Abstract:
A recycling program called 'Feed the Bin' to assist schools with their trash and recycling systems as well as integrate environmental education lessons throughout the public school system at Wake County (North Carolina) is described. The goal of the composting project was to not only reduce food residuals in the school system's waste stream, but to educate the students and faculty alike on the benefits of reducing waste and composting.

Article Abstract:
The history of the food residuals diversion program launched by Metro in the context of 10 of the key lessons learned during launching of a full-scale project is presented. Metro is a regional government headed by a directly-elected Council that deals with transportation and land use planning, parks, open spaces, and visitor services.

Managing organic residues in a South Pacific city
Article Abstract:
Honiara City Council (HCC) is promoting recycling program in Honiara city, the capital of The Solomon Islands, whereby organic wastes are collected from main open market and composted. The composts are sold to farmers or taken to charitable organization Custom Garden Association managed gardens, which grow vegetables.
