The effect of varying the causes of environmental problems on stated WTP values: evidence from a field study
Article Abstract:
A field experiment carried out in Netherlands to determine if alternate causes of an environmental problem affect willingness to pay to ameliorate it unlike the utility theory which assumes that utility depends solely on outcome causes is presented. The evidence supports the hypothesis showing that people are willing to pay significantly more to the nature. But there is no support for the hypothesis stating that moral responsibility matters.
