Bench defense: Lawyer Anne Marie Estevez helps Fortune 500 corporations defeat class-action lawsuits

Anne Marie Estevez, partner at the law firm Morgan Lewis & Bockius in Miami has led legal teams defending Fortune 500 corporations in 22 major employment lawsuits since 2001, and her client list includes Blockbuster, Morgan Stanley, and American Airlines. She loves the excitement of a courtroom, making her a natural litigator and credits her Hispanic heritage for helping her understand the wide range of people, from top executives to hourly workers that she deals with in her job.

Dr. Antonia Novello, the New York State Commissioner of Health, manages an agency with 6,500 employees who supervise and regulate 239 hospitals, 667 nursing homes, and 60,000 emergency medical technicians. On September 11, 2001, she arrived in New York two minutes after the first plane hit the World Trade Center and coordinated the response of emergency medical teams, hospitals, clinics, and morgues.
