Investing in grandchildren: basic education in the Indian sub-continent
Article Abstract:
No amount of external or internal support will improve an education system which prevails in a developing country like India, unless parents value the benefits of education and are prepared to invest in children's or grandchildren's futures. External assistance does not come without conditions, which at times are impractical. Interventions must therefore address a range of issues and provide a package of assistance to economic, social, and educational needs.
