A brief review on the discussions oecf the EOY finalists and investment experts at the Hispanic Business CEO Roundtable with reference to the challenges and opportunities facing middle-market Hispanic companies seeking access to capital markets is presented. The key to motivating and sustaining growth in the Hispanic enterprise economy is mastering the art of working in capital markets including by building stronger business, social, and political networks.

The business for Hispanic-owned companies accelerated in 2003, propelling Hispanic Business Fastest-Growing 100 directory in 2004 to five-year highs in total revenue, productivity, and job growth. Total revenues of the Fastest-Growing 100 companies, which maintained an average growth rate of nearly 400 percent from 1999 to 2003, accounted for more than 26 percent of the Hispanic Business 500's record total revenues of $26.3 billion in 2003.

The accelerating growth of the U.S. Hispanic economy has laid the ground for a wave of entrepreneurial expansion, however broad infrastructure and policy changes would be required for the market to fully advance. Hispanic-owned middle-market companies face unique challenges that need to be overcome to fill in the capital gap for strategic gain.
