The Tibet policies of Britain and Russia, 1900-14
Article Abstract:
Descriptions of the Tibetan situation at the start of the 20th century are obscured in both Russian and non-Russian literature, by essential errors. Chinese and British attitudes towards Tibet are examined, along with the theme of British-Russian rivalry. Documents show that Russia remained deaf to Tibetan calls and it demonstrated passiveness in solving Tibetan problems.
