New products on the market offer a chemical tan, and these products do not produce the orange look that such products once did. Several products are listed, and pregnant women are advised to consult their physicians before using them.

Telangiectasia is largely hereditary, but its formation in pregnant women can be prevented by exercise. About 60 to 70% of the spider veins that occur during pregnancy disappear. Telangiectasia can be cured through sclerotherapy.
