Attitudes toward marriage and divorce held by young adults
Article Abstract:
Young adults generally hold positive attitudes about marriage and commitment, with their parents' marital status not significantly influencing their attitudes. This was gleaned from an experiment involving 104 female and 84 male college students with three independent variables, namely, workaholic/cheating spouse, two children/no children and husband/wife as stimulus person. Sex of the subject was the predictor variable. Cheating/workaholic spouse proved to be the most significant variable; neither sex of stimulus nor sex of the subject proved to be significant.

A longitudinal study of the problems and concerns of urban divorced men
Article Abstract:
A study entailing the interviews of male divorcees during the first post-divorce month, six months later, and one year later was undertaken. The three phases were characterized in chronological order by financial worry, loneliness, and diminished negative reaction to the divorce compared to the first phase. The identified anxiety zones were loneliness, previous spouse contacts, interpersonal relationships, and self-doubts about stability and efficiency.

Familial conflict and attitudes toward marriage: a psychological wholeness perspective
Article Abstract:
A research conducted on the relationship between present and past familial conflict of 204 college students aged between 18 and 32 revealed that their views on marriage did not depend on the level of conflict. Contrary to expectations, family structure did not affect the attitude towards divorce. Students from broken homes reported higher levels of conflict in their homes.
