For instance, mothers should not think it is their fault when their children are less than cheerful, just as they are blameless when their husbands come home from work in foul moods.

Why American needs busybodies: as long as manners and common courtesy are on hiatus, isn't it our duty to speak up?

Many people have become passive to public displays of poor manners and bad behavior, which is a shame. Communities need people to assume responsibility to correct the behavior, as it reflects badly on the communities as a whole and individuals who do nothing or participate in the behavior.
