Comparing the family environments of adolescents with conduct disorder or depression.
Article Abstract:
This article compares the family environments of youth with conduct order with youth with depressive disorder. The authors, analyzing the results of a study that included 34 adolescents, maintain the adolescents with conduct disorder described their families as permissive with ambiguous discipline style, and the adolescents with depressive disorder described their family relationships as enmeshed.

Psychometric properties and norms of the family needs scale
Article Abstract:
This article evaluates the Family Needs Scale (FNS). The authors, employing the scale to rate 205 low-income families in an effort to diagnose risk factors for dysfunctionality, conclude the reliability of the test was low to moderate and argue more psychometric studies should be conducted with the FNS.

The author of this article provides an inspirational account of how she helped a person with severe disablities living in an institution find the proper care he needed by fighting against his institutionalization and putting him in a group home.
