What else do bosses do? A neo-Hobbesian model of the promotion/discipline nexus
Article Abstract:
The suggestion that bosses do not have to exert much effort when sinecure and promotion offer an alternative option for labor discipline was examined using a neo-Hobbesian model. The neo-Hobbesian approach to the effort extraction question provides a convenient, albeit problematic, point of departure concerning the role of individual incentives in labor discipline. The neo-Hobbesian model also tackles the use of the threat of possible detection and dismissal by capitalists as a mechanism to enforce discipline among workers.

Species concepts
Article Abstract:
The biological species concept (BSC) centers on the significance of reproductive and genetic connections among species. The application of BSC on cases that do not fit the category causes confusion among scientists unfamiliar with the BSC. This restriction makes the formulation of concepts that do not generalize notions on various biological processes imperative. The impracticality of applying the BSC for some species has to be considered and new definitions given.
