Falling through the cracks: gaps in child support among welfare recipients
Article Abstract:
This article examines gaps in child support among welfare recipients, focusing on paternity establishment, support orders, and payments. The author, analyzing data from a two year period in which children in the child support system were tracked, maintains few welfare recipients were able to successfully negotiate the system, and mothers achieved different levels of success for different children.
