Former spouse interaction: normative guidelines and actual behavior
Article Abstract:
A study of the normative guidelines and actual behavior of former spouses reveals that differences exist in social norms and individual ideas about relationship between former spouses, while individuals behave according to their own ideas. Though children are an important factor for contacts between the spouses, they are not the only factor. Divorced couples of the same dyad have similar views about societal norms and frequency of contacts but they differ on issues such as the role of noncustodial parent in coparenting.

Marital dissolution as a stressor: some evidence on psychological, physical, and behavioral changes in the pre-separation period
Article Abstract:
An analysis of marital dissolution cases in Norway confirmed the hypothesis that divorce is a highly stressful process that leads to a decline in the well-being of those involved while simultaneously increasing loneliness, distress and alcoholism. These effects are also manifested in the form of weight loss. However, there was no substantial evidence supporting the hypothesis that men are more negatively affected by the process of separation than women.

The effects of guilt on divorce adjustment
Article Abstract:
A study on the effects of guilt on divorce adjustment, involving 29 men and 44 women, who have not been married to one another, reveals a correlation between guilt and depression. The study also shows a relationship between guilt and the strengthening of attachment toward the former spouse. However, there was no significant relationship between guilt and role strain.
