From adolescent to young adult: a prospective study of parent-child relations during the transition to adulthood
Article Abstract:
Research has looked at the extent of continuity in parent-child relations from adolescence to young adulthood. Particular attention was given to whether patterns of childrearing and parent-child relations during adolescence have an impact on relations between parents and adult children in the long term. The sources of discontinuity in parent-child relations were also considered. It was established that there is considerable support for the view that there is continuity in parent-child relations from adolescence to young adulthood.

The life course of children born to unmarried mothers: childhood living arrangements and young adult outcomes
Article Abstract:
Childhood living arrangements and the timing of life course transition shape long-term outcomes among children born to unmarried mothers. These factors influence decision-making with regard to children's education and independent living. A stable living arrangement leads to better long-term results for the child. Stress from transition at a later stage of childhood is greater than the ones occurring during early stages. Educational status of mothers hold importance for future education of children.
