Get ready, here comes the Exoatmospheric Kill Vehicle
Article Abstract:
The Exoatmospheric Kill Vehicle (EKV) is designed to fly through space at 4500 miles per hour and obliterate an incoming warhead. It costs $20-25 million and is the crown jewel of the US National Missile Defense program. It is scheduled for a test run on September 30, 1999. The EKV is just another facet of the latest resurgence of preparation for a nuclear war.
