Intimate relationships: college students from divorced and intact families
Article Abstract:
A psychological study of 300 single, heterosexual college students between 18 and 25 years old, from divorced and intact homes, revealed many differences in their attitude towards intimate relationships. Students from broken families had more sexual partners and desired more sexual involvements while dating than students from intact homes. Parental marital discord directly influenced the children's number of sexual involvements and prejudices against marriage. The attitude of children from divorced families towards marriage and intimate relationships was also affected by the length of time since their parents' divorce.

Grandchildren's perceptions of grandparental support in divorced and intact families
Article Abstract:
Adult children of divorced parents perceive greater grandparental support than adult children from intact families. A study of 327 college students sought to examine their views regarding their relationships with their grandparents by comparing these with the views of those from intact families. There were few significant differences in the views of the two groups, suggesting that parental divorce was not a strong factor in their perceptions of relations with their grandparents.
